Orthodontics Lancashire (Teeth Straightening)

Our practice owner and dentist, Dr M A Best, has gained an Orthodontic Masters Degree. Dr Best has been using removable braces (clear aligners) for over 8 years now; which sparked his interest in orthodontics (teeth straightening).

Dr Best offers a free remote assessment and an in-practice assessment for patients which carries a £50 fee. Please follow this link to book an appointment at our practice in Darwen (within the borough of Blackburn with Darwen).

What are braces?

Braces are appliances that straighten your teeth. They are used to improve the function and appearance of your teeth. There are different types of braces; some are removable and some are fixed. Removable braces allow you to take them out of your mouth however fixed braces are bonded on to your teeth with special dental material.

What we offer:

Clear Aligners – These are removable braces. Aligners are a series of clear braces, moulded specifically to your teeth, which straighten tooth discrepancies. These are perfect for people with mild to moderate discrepancies.

We offer Invisalign treatment from our dental practice in Darwen, Lancashire.

HOW DOES INVISALIGN WORK?

Metal Fixed – These are fixed braces. Small metal ‘brackets’ are bonded to the teeth and a wire is placed across and secured in place, which applies light force to the teeth and results in the straightening of the teeth. These are suitable for more severe cases

Clear Fixed – These are fixed braces with clear brackets. If the appearance of fixed braces concerns you, ceramic (clear) fixed braces would be perfect for you. Small ceramic ‘brackets’ are bonded to the teeth and a wire is placed across and secured in place, which applies light force to the teeth and results in the straightening of the teeth. These are also able to deal with more severe cases.
